China's new energy locomotive "going global" injects new momentum of green development into the "the Belt and Road"

On May 20th, the CKD6H locomotive, a new energy cooperation project between CRRC and Kazakhstan State Railway Company, was officially launched at CRRC Ziyang Locomotive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as"CRRC Ziyang Company"). This marks a breakthrough in the overseas export of China's standardized new energy locomotive platform products, becoming an important milestone in the"going global" of green rail transit equipment.

The CKD6H locomotive exported this time is the first series of new energy locomotive overseas projects in China after promoting the policy of replacing old diesel locomotives with new energy. As a demonstration project of the National Railway Administration to promote high-quality development of new energy railway equipment under the new development pattern, the serialized standard new energy locomotives not only fill the gap in the export of China's serialized standard new energy locomotives, but also provide a"China plan" for green transportation development for countries along the"the Belt and Road".

The CKD6H locomotive is built on the China CRRC series standard new energy locomotive platform, optimized for extreme cold environments in Central Asia. It adopts a hybrid power of"internal combustion engine+power battery", integrating digitization, intelligence, and greenness, and has five core advantages of"green, safe, intelligent, economical, and reliable". The locomotive is equipped with a low emission diesel engine that meets EU IIIA standards and a high safety large capacity lithium iron phosphate power battery. It is equipped with an intelligent diagnostic system, a quadruple safety protection system, and fast charging technology, and can adapt to extremely cold environments of minus 50 degrees Celsius. Its intelligent energy management system can achieve fuel savings of over 45%, noise reduction of 80%, and pollutant emissions reduction of 45% to 83% compared to traditional diesel locomotives. Each locomotive can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 240 tons per year, with outstanding environmental benefits.

This locomotive will arrive in Kazakhstan in June and undergo EAC certification based on China's new energy locomotive standards. This is the first time that China's new energy locomotive standards have been adopted and used as certification basis by foreign countries.

At present, CRRC Ziyang Company has built a new energy product matrix covering various power sources such as hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen energy. It can provide customized solutions with a power range of 200kW to 3000kW, fully meeting the diverse needs of customers.
