On the Occasion of the Opening of the World Games 2025 Chengdu, Sichuan has launched 10 Premium Inbound Tourist Routes, and Mount Guangwu Has become a Highlight
On the evening of August 7, 2025, the 12th World Games grandly opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Taking this opportunity, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism has introduced 10 premium tourist routes themed"Follow the World Games to Tour Sichuan, sincerely inviting tourists from all over the world to step into Sichuan and experience the unique charm of"Splendid Tianfu and Comfortable Sichuan".
These 10 premium inbound tourist routes profoundly explore the essence of Ba-Shu Culture, and integrates natural and cultural heritage, giant pandas, ice and snow hot springs, sunshine healthcare and other advantageous tourism resources of Sichuan. Specifically, routes of"World Heritage Classics Tour", Giant Pandas Eco Tour" and"Snow-Capped Peaks & Colorful Forests West Loop Tour" are included. Not only can these routes immerse tourists in vibrant cultural tapestry, but also they can enable tourists to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Sichuan in autumn and winter in advance.
It is worth mentioning that Mount Guangwu in Bazhong City has been selected for“Pet Giants Eco Tour”. The route offers a rich itinerary. Starting from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, it connects Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Street, Bifengxia Giant Panda Base, Ya'an, Wolong China Giant Panda Garden- Shenshuping Base and many other well-known attractions. Mount Guangwu is one of the bright pearls.
As a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, Mount Guangwu is the concentrated demonstration area of geological wonders in Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Geopark. It is also the only national 5A-level tourist attraction in Sichuan Province with a world geopark brand. The scenic area is renowned for its"Five Marvels" -"fantastic mountains, bizarre rock formations, tranquil valleys, crystal-clear waters and precipitous peaks", together creating the ethereal fairyland charm of the Mount Guangwu.
Mount Guangwu has beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons: Spring paints the mountains crimson with blooming azaleas; Summer provides a refreshing retreat from the heat; Autumn unveils a vast expanse of red foliage (over 40 species of trees create a vibrant tapestry for a month-long spectacle) while Winter transforms the landscape into a realm of ice and rime. Within the 820-km scenic area, the forest coverage rate is above 97%, and the content of negative oxygen ions is extremely high, which can be said to be a natural oxygen bar. There are still historical relics such as Micang Ancient Road preserved in the scenic area; and historical stories including Han Xin's Night Crossing has passed down among the local people. Scenic spots such as Sea of Clouds at Yanziling, Red Leaves at Black Bear Valley, and Waterfalls in Eighteen Moon Pool all have their unique features. Nature and culture blend with each other, making it an ideal place for leisure and exploration.
This summer, Mount Guangwu offers an array of bucket-list geological marvels for experience. As the first 5A-level mountainous tourist area in Sichuan,"Above-the-Cloud Extreme" high-altitude acrobatic performance at an altitude of 1,800m in Mount Guangwu presents a thrilling and shocking performance. Daily performance time: 9:30-10:00 am, 10:30-11:00 pm, 14:00-14:30 pm. On weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), performances will be added from 16:00-16:30 (in case of extreme weather such as rainstorm and strong winds, the performances will be suspended). Performances are held at Yanziling, Mount Guangwu Scenic Area.
New Dreamland Mount Guangwu ranges from the hospitality of Welcome to Bashan, to the magnificence of Mists of Bashan, to the elegance and wonders of The Secret Realm of Mount Guangwu, and finally to the Majestic and spectacular power of The Charm of Micang, spreading out a breathless Bashan epic.
In Mount Guangwu Sports Theme Park, the Hongye Sky float, which broke the Guinness World Record, can make tourists scream from the top of the mountain to the foot of the mountain, and their adrenaline soars; while the Scarlet Speedster Rally Cars unleash raw velocity, letting drivers pin the throttle to roar down the mountaintop in a tire-screeching spectacle of street-igniting passion.
In addition, the"Youth Unlimited - Special Forces Hiking Challenge" has launched on August 10 full of vitality. Mount Guangwu, is endowed with constant temperature of 18℃ in summer, makes hiking available.
In terms of transportation, external tourists can take high-speed rail or bus to arrive at the scenic area. Tourists can take the high-speed railway to Hanzhong Railway Station or Bazhongdong Railway Station first, and then transfer to a direct train to the scenic area from Hanzhong Railway Station, which takes about 1.5 hours to arrive at the scenic spot. Starting from Bazhongdong Railway Station, tourists can book 9-seater commercial vehicle in advance on the [Changxing Bazhong] WeChat official account, and it takes approximately 2 hours to arrive at the scenic spot. In terms of buses, there are direct buses from Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an and other places to Nanjiang County. After arriving in Nanjiang, tourists can take taxies (about 30 minutes) or transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus to go to Mount Guangwu Scenic Area. There are shuttle buses from Bazhong Jiangbei Bus Station to Nanjiang, and then transfer to the shuttle bus to Mount Guangwu Scenic Area from Nanjiang (There are 2-3 trips per day. Tourists need to confirm the time in advance).
The free bus service in the scenic area has also been formally launched. From August 6 to August 31 (tentatively scheduled), it operates daily from 8:00 to 18:00 with departures with every 30 minutes, running on a loop route between Ecological Parking Lot of Guangwushan Town and the entrance of Tieluba Geological Park.
In order to fully demonstrate the enthusiasm of"Splendid Tianfu and Comfortable Sichuan", 104 Sichuan A-level tourist attractions such as Jiuzhai Valley Scenic Areas, Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System are offering special preferential policies for the World Games athletes, working personnel, volunteers and related groups, including free first-admission tickets with discounted rates for cable cars and sightseeing buses. Some scenic spots have launched promotional activities for visitors who purchase tickets for the World Games, such as offering discounts on scenic spot tickets.
