Deepening Science and Technology Innovation and Business Cooperation between Bazhong in Sichuan and Türkiye: Writing a New Chapter of Silk Road Civilization

On April 9, a Turkish business delegation visited Bazhong Enterprise (Chengdu) Happiness Center. Concurrently, Bazhong (China) - Technopark İstanbul (Türkiye) Cooperation and Exchange Symposium and the Electronic Information Industry Supply and Demand Matchmaking Event were held. Ren Xiaojuan, Vice Mayor of Bazhong City, attended the event to promote the two regions to leverage their millennium-old Silk Road origins, deepen practical cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Vice Mayor Ren Xiaojuan stated at the symposium that as a crucial node of the Southern Silk Road, Bazhong shares a profound Silk Road bond with Türkiye, which lies at the western hub of the ancient Silk Road. This exchange is a vivid manifestation of the spirit of the millennia-old Silk Road in the new era. She made a comprehensive introduction around local conditions, industrial advantages and business environment of Bazhong, and pointed out that the two regions have a high degree of industrial compatibility. She emphasized that the two sides can focus on strengthening cooperation in fields such as electronic information and biomedicine, promote the two-way transformation of scientific research achievements by relying on Turkish Technology Transfer Center (TTTC), and build a business platform to help enterprises expand their markets.

The delegation was composed of 21 core representatives in the field of science and technology innovation, includingAbdurrahman AKYOL, General Manager ofTechnopark İstanbul, and Mehmet Şahin Gök, Director of Turkish Technology Transfer Center(TTTC). Their business covers electronic information, biomedicine and other fields, which is highly aligned with the development direction of leading industries in Bazhong.Mr.AKYOL stated that he deeply felt the vitality of development and high-quality business environment in Bazhong, and expressed expectations for deepening cooperation in science and technology parks, technological innovation and other fields by using the exchange as a bond to promote the complementary advantages of enterprises from both sides.

At the supply-demand matchmaking event, 11 electronic information enterprises from Bazhong jointly promoted their offerings, while local authorities highlighted key industry support policies. Chinese and Turkish companies engaged in one-on-one precise consultations, exchanging views on issues such as supply chain support and joint R&D. Several Turkish entrepreneurs affirmed the quality of electronic products produced in Bazhong. It is reported that currently, Bazhong has gathered over 70 electronic information enterprises, and boasts multiple national high-tech enterprises and provincial specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative enterprises, laying a solid industrial foundation for the cooperation between the two sides.

As one of the largest scientific and technological innovation zones in Türkiye,Technopark İstanbul serves as the core hub for local technological innovation and international cooperation. Turkish Technology Transfer Center(TTTC) serves as a key channel for its innovative technologies to expand into global markets. The delegation also visited the headquarters base of the Happiness Center, and gained an in-depth understanding of the opening-up and industrial development overview of Bazhong.‌ The event, co-organized by relevant departments of Bazhong City, furtherbuilds a bridge for scientific, technological and commercial cooperation between the two sides, and promotes local opening-up and development into the joint construction of"the Belt and Road Initiative".
